About the Faculty of Dentistry

Founded in 1907, the Faculty of Dentistry is the only Faculty and School of Dentistry in New Zealand. It forms an integral part of the Division of Health Sciences within the University of Otago in Dunedin. It offers programmes in all branches of Dentistry, Dental Therapy, Dental Hygiene, Dental Technology, and Clinical Dental Technology.

The School offers excellent facilities for postgraduate training and is developing programmes for all professional groups in dentistry who wish to continue their education and obtain further qualifications. The School serves as a teaching hospital for the people of Dunedin and the surrounding community. The Faculty has an international reputation for clinical and research excellence.
